Wyoming has many nicknames; we are known as the Equality State, the Cowboy State, and the Energy Capital of the World. For those of us who are native to this amazing state, we call it God’s Country. We are home to only one State University, the University of Wyoming, which was recognized as a College in 1886, four years before Wyoming got her Statehood in 1890, becoming the 44th state. A very young state we still hold the honor of having quite a bit of America’s “First” From National Parks to public libraries, Governors and judges, Wyoming truly has earned her many nicknames.
With a population of 558,000 people, we take pride in having more cattle than people. Our National Parks, National Monuments and National Forest are home to amazing wildlife and the best fishing anywhere in the lower 48.
